Four Firefox Tips for February 29

Those smart scientists out there have added a day to the calendar this year. Apparently it's to keep our clocks in line with the earth's rotation around the sun. Or something. But what we think it really means is that you have an entire extra 24 hours to do a few things that maybe you wouldn't normally have time for. Yay! Here are some Firefox-y suggestions.

1. Secure Your Passwords
If your password is 1234, you might have a security problem on your hands. Never fear! Firefox is here to offer some tips on keeping your password safe. The following video explains how to create a super-duper-extra-wicked-strong password — which should only take a few minutes of your extra day and leave you time for our other suggestions below!

See? Easy! Now that you're a bit safer online, you can also organize your bookmarks; customize your browsing experience with buttons and actions that work for the way you browse; and help make Firefox — and the Web — the best it can be. Read how here.

Making Android Awesome With the Awesome Screen

You already know that Firefox for Android is optimized for the way you browse on tablets. And if you don't, well, then now you do! Now we want to tell you about one of our favorite features: the Awesome Screen. Here are a few ways it can make browsing on Android more awesome:

Type less, browse more
It's not just awesome. It's smart, too. It gets to know you, your browsing habits and the sites you visit most so it can offer up a smart list of websites when you search.

Sync it up
It's basically your starting place for everything. If you're using Firefox Sync, this is where you'll be able to access your history, bookmarks and even tabs from all your other devices.

Use both hands
Browsing on tablets is different than browsing on your phone. So now it's redesigned for two-handed browsing, making it more comfortable and intuitive.

Avoid Crashes, Find Happiness

Usually Firefox makes you happy with more — more speed, more flexibility, more security — but it can also make you happy with less. How is that possible, you ask? (And if you didn't ask, just play along.) Well, we're talking about crashes. And obviously fewer crashes lead to more happiness.

See how happy your Firefox can be!
