COMPANY PROFILE
The Hub power station was one of the first and largest
Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Pakistan to be financed by the private
sector in Southern Asia and one of the largest private power projects in the
newly industrialized world.
Financial
closure took place in January 1995, two years after the sponsors of the project
had decided to raise mobilization finance and to begin construction to meet the
policy guidelines of the Government of Pakistan for additional electricity to
be provided by private investment. The station achieved COD on 31 March 1997.
The Hub power
station was the first project to be successfully co-financed by several
governments, the World Bank as well as international private sector lenders and
investors. It set the standard for the formulation of a private power framework
in Pakistan which has elicited numerous responses from international investors.
Several medium sized projects have since completed their financing,
construction and now are in operation.
Today, the Hub Power Company is listed on the Karachi,
Lahore and Islamabad Stock Exchanges and its Global Depository Receipts are
listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. It has over thirteen thousand (13,000)
Pakistani and International shareholders.
The Hub Power Plant consists of four generating units each
rated at 323 MW gross output, with an oil-fired single reheat boiler and tandem
compound, two cylinder condensing steam turbines directly coupled to a hydrogen
cooled generator. The design net available output is exported to WAPDA’s
national grid via the power station’s 500kv switchyard. Both the plant
configuration and the steam conditions represent conventional design based on
proven technology.
The Hub Power plant is one of the most efficient oil fired
thermal plant and can provide 10+% of country’s electricity demand. The plant
is operated in such a way that it is available at a short notice during high
demand period and can switch to flexible operations during low demand periods.
The Hub Power Station site has an ongoing proactive
approach to safety management. Station’s commitment to safety procedures has
already earned it with Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold
Awards consecutively for the last many years.

by the Pharaon Investment Group Limited Holding s.a.l. (PIGL) and Attock Oil

In addition to enhancing storage capacity at existing Bulk
Oil Terminals i.e., Rawalpindi and Machike, we are actively considering
establishing storage terminals at other strategic locations of the country like
Mehmood Kot-Multan, Gatti-Faisalabad and Shikarpur.

HOME LIMITED (IHL) was a Joint Venture between Indus Dyeing And Manufacturing
Company Limited and WEST POINT HOME LIMITED (WPH) (a US based Company). It is
an export-oriented vertically integrated towel manufacturing and finishing
facility in Raiwind near Lahore. Commercial production started in the
year 2006. Effective from Nov 2013, Indus Home Limited is 100% owned by Indus
Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Limited.

Indus Group has been active in the textile industry for over 60 years. Originally founded as a company specialized in the pre-cleaning and ginning of cotton, it has developed into one of the largest and well established textile groups in the country.

Turnover is above US$ 300 million worth of textile materials out of which

Spinning
Mills:
The spinning
operation comprises 6 spinning mills having 225,000 spindles. A wide variety of
yarns are produced in these mills. Spinning mills annually produce approx.
42,000 tons of yarn.
Ginning
Mills (Raw Cotton):
The harvested cotton is pre-cleaned in four
factories located in four different cities in the best cotton areas of the
Punjab Region. Through selective purchasing from the farmers, careful drying
and thorough blending, about 19,000 metric tons of cotton are processed every
year.
