Cellular Subscribers Reach 114.61 Million in January 2012
Number of mobile phone subscribers reached 114.61 million by the end of January 2011, taking mobile phone teledensity to 66.5 percent. According to latest figures released by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Mobilink led the market with 34.70 million subscribers followed by Telenor with 28.47 million customers.

Branchless Banking Transactions Hit Rs. 79.4 Billion Mark During Sep-Dec 2011
Total number of branchless banking transactions processed during the quarter remained 20.6 million, valuing Rs. 79.4 billion. Bills payment & top-up remained the dominating activity with 53% share in total numbers, followed by fund transfer and deposits with share of 39% and 8% respectively.

According to latest stats issued by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, number of broadband subscribers in Pakistan reached 1.79 million till December 2011, adding some 65,000 subscribers in the month of December 2011.
