Are Those Updates Necessary? Find Out Inside + Your Online Searches J

Google Site Preview

So there I was, just browsing around on Google the other day, when I noticed an arrow box thingy next to my search results.
It’s called Search Preview (or Site Preview), and what it does is give you a sneak-peek at a site, without actually having to expend the full bandwidth to browse to it! This is great for folks who remember stuff better visually, or are doing rapid research and can’t recall where they left off. Why waste the time clicking and waiting for a page to load, when you can get quick preview, instead?
So, give it a shot! Next time you’re Googling, click the little arrow box and look at the web a quicker way!
Dead Devices While Driving Can Cause Road Rage!

DON'T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU!

Check it Out - The HOTTEST Charger EVER - And it's For Your Car!

PERFECT DESIGN - SITS IN YOUR CUP HOLDER!

Charge up to 3 Devices At Once!

2 AC Plugs AND a USB Port...

THERE'S NOTHING THIS CAN'T CHARGE!

What Can it Charge?

YOU MEAN 'WHAT CAN'T IT CHARGE?!'

Road Rage...

It's happened to all of us -  you're not alone!  And no, I'm not talking about screaming at the guy who just cut you off, complete with a long honk of the horn and a few choice hand gestures...I'm talking about driving with dead devices!

One minute you're jamming out with your iPod or MP3 Player, the next - you're driving in dead silence.
So to pass the time, you decide to call an old friend, only to discover that you're phone battery is about dead...and the laptop you're traveling with sure could use a charge, too.

STOP GETTING ANGRY - WE'VE GOT WHAT YOU NEED!

It's a
BRILLIANT, PORTABLE CHARGER that fits in your cup-holder!  Well get to the revolutionary design shortly though...for now, you've gotta see how this thing works!  And don't worry - it's EASY!

2 AC Outlets AND a USB Port! CHARGE 3 DEVICES AT ONCE!

Just stick the plug into your car's cigarette lighter and you're ready to start charging!  As you can see, there are 2 AC outlets AND a USB Port that'll charge ANY home device you can think of: laptop, portable TV's, DVD players, portable gaming devices...WHATEVER!

Have a look at the top: see that?  There's two AC plugs, a USB port AND an indicator light!
The AC chargers are PERFECT when traveling with a group of people.  Taking a family trip?  I bet your kids have portable gaming devices or DVD players...and I bet when they run outta power the bickering starts! Not anymore!  Plus it's POWERFUL: it provides a whoppin' 120V of pure charging power!

The USB Port charges EVERYTHING!
Seriously - any USB device you can think of, this beast will charge!  Whether it's an iPhone, Cell Phone, iPod, MP3 Player, digital camera...if it charges via USB, this will charge it up in NO TIME!

A Design that "Fits!"

We all know how bulky these chargers can be.  After all, when they're designed to provide you with 120V of charging power, they're often times an unfortunate shape and size.  But not this one!  Someone made the most PRACTICAL design ever!  Check it out!

FITS PERFECTLY IN YOUR CUP HOLDER!

How PERFECT is that?  As you can see - this thing is in a convenient spot whileNEVER GETTING IN YOUR WAY!  Talk about a REVOLUTIONARY design!  The cords that you stick into this charger won't ever get in your way, either.

Having the charger sit in the middle of your car allows you to keep the cords in the middle too - so it's SAFE too! OH - And that Power Cord?  It's a WHOPPIN' 18'' long!

All of your devices can now be charged right at your fingertips!
The worst part about those other chargers is when they take up a seat, or someone has to hold onto it so it doesn't fall and take your devices with it.  That's why the design of this thing is AMAZING!

As you can see, not only is this baby capable of charging all of your devices from the road - it does it in style!  It won't take up valuable real estate inside of your car!

Safety First: Overload Protection AND Low Battery Shut-Off!

Safety is ALWAYS a concern, and that certainly wasn't an oversight on this charger!  The overload protection ensures that a.) you aren't undercharging your devices and B.) you aren't giving the charger more than it can handle (which is REALLY hard to do!).  If either of these things should start to happen, it'll AUTOMATICALLY shut itself off!

And it WON'T drain your car battery!
There's a sensor inside this brilliant charger that monitors your cars battery - and if it's using too much, once again, it'll AUTOMATICALLY shut itself off!

IT'S 100% WORRY FREE CHARGING POWER...

AT A PRICE YOU WON'T BELIEVE!

We were able to get these at an AMAZING price - but the deal won't last!  Not only is there a limited supply of these awesome chargers - our vendor is threatening to raise the price at any time!  Hurry and get yours at this SPECIAL introductory price of just $32.97 with FREE US SHIPPING INCLUDED!

Computers 101

Scott from Colorado writes:
I’m recording cassettes with Audacity on a laptop using dual mics. My recordings not only pick up the music, they also pick up the ambient sound from the room. Disabling the mics provided the sound I wanted, but I’m looking for an easier solution.
Hi, Scott, what a great question!  Audacity makes editing audio files really easy.  I think you’ll get the results you want quickly by doing the steps below.
1) In Audacity, open the file from which you want to remove the background noise.
2) Begin playing the track but stop it when you reach an area which includes only the noise you want to remove.
3) Once you stop the track, highlight the area that includes only the undesirable noise.  Your track will look something like the image below.
01_Highlight_Background_Noise
4)  Once you have the background noise highlighted…
a)  click the Effect button.
b) then click Noise Removal.
02_Choose_Noise_Removal_from_Toolbar
5)  The following Noise Removal screen will appear.  On this screen, click only the Get Noise Profile button.   What this feature does is learn the noise you do not want.
03_Click_Get_Noise_Profile
6)  Now that Audacity knows the noise you want to remove, select the entire track by clicking on the following:
04_Select_Entire_Track
a)  Edit
b)  Select…
c)  All
7)  Now that your entire track is selected, let’s remove the noise!  Open the Noise Removal window again by
a)  clicking the Effect button
b) then clicking Noise Removal
02_Choose_Noise_Removal_from_Toolbar
8)  Now click on the Remove Noise button as shown in the picture below.
05_Click_Remove_Noise
That’s it!  Listen to your track and see if there is any other noise that you need to remove.  I wouldn’t recommend doing this too many times to one track, but a couple of times is usually sufficient to get rid of the background noise.
Hope this helps!  If you have any further questions or issues, just post a comment below!

MS Office

MS Excel: Delete Multiple Comments at Once
If you’ve got an Excel worksheet that contains a lot of comments, it can be a bit of a pain to remove them all when you’re done.
Think about it. If the worksheet is a large one and you’ve managed to accumulate quite a few comments, it’s going to be frustrating (to say the least) as you move to each cell containing a comment, then either using the Delete Comment button on the Review tab of the Ribbon or right-clicking on the cell then choosing Delete Comment from the menu.
Either way it’s repetitive and time consuming. You’ve just got to know that there’s a way to select and remove all comments at one time!

Tip of the Day

Ryan B. from Spokane, Washington asks:

I have a question about updates. I have an antivirus and firewall program installed and they always notify me when they have updated everything; I figure that’s good since they are the most important. I also have Windows Update. I am very busy and get tired of having Windows Update nagging me to update all of the time but I do end up installing the updates eventually. I know that as long as I update at all, it’s enough. Is it really necessary to update my computer as often as Windows Update says? Do any other programs need to updated more? I hate updating, it’s a bore. I never remember when I’m supposed to do it, anyway..
First, thanks for writing, Ryan; this is a really good (and very important) question to ask.

First off, let me say three things:

#1: You’re right; your antivirus and firewall programs are at the top of the list of programs to be updated regularly. However, there are other important programs to update consistently, such as your antispyware programs (if you don’t have any – and you need one – click here to take a look at some possibilities).

Today's Feature

Richard asks:

I have a folder which I tried to secure by adding password protection. In the Folder Properties, under the General tab, I saw and checked the Hidden box and successfully hid the folder. Now I can’t seem to find the newly hidden folder. How do I get access back to the folder? Also, how can I password protect it? I’m using Vista.

Richard, you can access your hidden folder by going to where it was stored (it’s still there) and clicking the Alt key. This will bring up a familiar looking menu at the top of the screen. By the way, you can also follow these steps in Windows 7.

*LOWEST PRICE EVER!*
An 8GB Class 4 MicroSD / Transflash / SD Card...
Costs Around $50 Retail - Not too Bad, HOWEVER...
We've Got 'em for $14.97!
Works In Digital Cameras AND Cell Phones!
You'll NEVER Find a Price This Ridiculously Low!
Better Stock Up - These'll be GONE in a FLASH!

A Must-Have For Everyone!
OK, who couldn't use a little more memory in their digital cameras or cell phone?
Alright, who couldn't use a LOT more memory?!?!
Well, we just stumbled across an absolutely unbelievable deal on some 8GB SDHC Class 4 Micro SD cards with SD adapters!
Just like it says above - this is a HUGE 8GB SDHC Class 4 Micro SD Card with SD adapter card for just $14.97! No typos, that's the real price!!!Hey, if you're sick and tired of always seeing those annoying "card full" errors then it's time to grab one of these! You just can't go wrong for the price!
Plus - this works in both phones AND cameras! How cool is that? One card for everything!

How's it work? The card itself is a MicroSD (also known as Transflash) card. These are what's usually used in cell phones, PDAs, GPS's, etc (of course, check your phone to make sure). However, rather than just being limited to your phone, these also come with an SD Card adapter!
Just pop this into the SD Adapter, and you instantly have a 8GB SD Card!
So, if you need a Micro SD OR a regular SD card, this has you covered!

Also, please note that these are not standard SD cards - these are SDHC cards. Now, it's best to check your camera manual, but most cameras that take an SD type card can handle these IF they were made from 2007 onward.

So, exactly how much can one of these babies hold? We're talking a whoppin' 2000 photos from your typical 8MP camera or a massive 4,000 photos from your typical 4MP camera phone!
Think about that - you could pop one of these into your camera or camera phone when you leave for your next vacation and never have to worry about changing the card or running out of memory! How cool is THAT gonna be for ya?

Now, the REALLY killer part - these aren't your typical 8GB microSD Cards with SD Adapters!
These are High-Speed Class 4 cards! What does that mean to you? SDHC uses classes to describe how fast the card can read or write. For example, a Class 2 card runs at 2MB per second and class 4 runs at a whoppin' 4MB a second!! That's a LOT of fast data transfer!

So what's the upshot?
Have you ever taken a quick series of photos then pressed the button but got the error "Stand by - writing to card" or something along those lines? See, your camera can only take so many photos in a row before its buffer gets full - and when that happens you have to wait for it to empty before you can start taking photos again.
Now, the faster your card, the faster that buffer gets empty and the sooner YOU get back to taking pictures!
PLUS - there's yet another advantage! When you're copying your photos or information from your card to your computer, you'll probably find it happens a LOT faster with this card than other cards! You gotta love a fast progress bar!

Oh, and the price is killer! I saw a similar card over at a local store the other day for $49.99! That's crazy! We have 'em for just $14.97 and US shipping is FREE! Talk about a mind-blowin' deal! Your family and friends aren't gonna believe you got 'em so cheap! Only a limited quantity available so RUN to the site and grab 'em today!
PS - Unfortunately, this deal can't go on forever and the price will increase to $18.97 tomorrow - IF there's any stock left! So order now!!!

Storm Warning
I created this image one cold, lonely evening at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The weather forecast was ominous - thunderstorms, 15 foot waves, and a gale warning already in full effect.

I had been out tromping through the snow all morning at a local park and was heading back to the ‘ol truck when I spotted this little gal. She was a bit shy at first, but it didn’t take too long for her to start to get a bit curious about me and come over to investigate. After all, it’s not every day you see... (More)

This photo was captured at the very heart of Lower Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ. Our Navajo guide took us down into the canyon and we shot and explored at every turn. I’d been here before, and it was a treat to come back. As we walked along, our hushed voices echoing off the canyon walls, I only half-heartedly listened to our guide. Most of my attention was directed towards the wonderful curves and... (More)
