Restore Last Tab
This has happened to me a lot more than I’d like to admit: I’d be browsing around with about a million tabs open, and for some reason I would decide that closing some of them would be a good idea.
Not so much. As it turns out, I actually needed that last tab, but instead of cursing and throwing a fit of lament, I remembered this handy key combination. Just click Ctrl+Shift+T and your last closed tab will open up!  This works in Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer! Give it a try next time you accidentally close a tab you needed! ~Andrew

With the change from the menu system to Microsoft’s Ribbon many things seem “lost” to a lot of users. One of those things that many can’t find is how to set the default font in Word 2007 & 2010.
The problem isn’t that it’s difficult – in fact it’s no different than it was before – you just have to get to the Font dialog box in a new way.
Here’s what we seek:

Click the Launch Dialog button in the bottom right corner of the Font group on the Home tab of the Ribbon… or… use Ctrl + D.
Once the Font dialog box is open make the changes you want applied to the font that will be the default for all new documents.
Now simply click the Default button in the bottom left corner.
Voila!

Get the Right GPS
So you’re finally tired of getting lost and ready to upgrade to a GPS, but you’re confused because there are a lot to choose from out there - I mean a LOT, and each one seems to tout different features. Well, let’s see if I can detangle this for you.
“FEATURES” THAT ARE NON-FEATURES
Let’s start with what I call “non-features”. These are the things that ALL GPS’s offer, but some of the companies have enough integrity not to try to pass them off as “features”. It’s like years ago when I saw a car ad on TV, and just for giggles, paused on the screen that listed the “included options”. One of these was a “circular directional control device”. That’s a steering wheel. They also had the four tires listed, but I forget what they called them.
Turn-by-turn directions – A GPS that didn’t offer turn-by-turn directions would be pretty useless, don’t you agree? That’s kind of the point of having a GPS.
No GPS subscription fee – There is no such thing as a “GPS subscription fee”. If you ever come across one that does try to charge you a GPS subscription fee, run. All that a GPS does is read satellite signals. Some GPS companies used to charge a discounted annual fee for map updates, but many of them have map updates included these days.

Reinstalling Multiple Programs with Ninite
Formatting the hard drive of a computer can be a pain, but sometimes it’s unavoidable and needs to be done. Although operating system installations don’t take hours to complete anymore, it is still cumbersome to re-install all of your favorite software all over again on a freshly formatted drive. Some applications, like the media players, messengers, and browsers, etc. are needed the moment one boots into a freshly installed PC. Downloading and installing them one by one can make anyone pull their hair out. Ninite.com is a free website which makes this job relatively easy for you. Hide Your Username in Windows 7
The login screen of Windows Vista and Windows 7 makes it very easy to see the user name of the last person that logged in. This may be fine on personal computers, but on shared computers, this could be a security threat. A potential intruder would only have to find out the password, which is very possible with the right software. To solve this problem, we have to change a value in the registry. Don’t worry; it is easier than it sounds. But before we change anything, it is best to make a backup of the registry.
Note: If you’re uncomfortable editing the Windows Registry do not attempt this tip.
1. Press [Windows Key] + R to bring up Run.
2. Type “regedit” (without quotes) into the text box and hit enter.

So how does it work? Historical photos are synced up with Google Maps to give you a window into the past. The interface is easy to use, just type in the name of the City, State, or Country you want to check out and then click the orange Go button.
Do you have historical photographs that you’d like to share? Well you can upload them to the site using the handy Upload a Photo button. You’ll have to register to upload photos; it is a simple form to fill out, just provide a username, e-mail address, then create a password.
Do you just want to look at the photographs without having to put in a location? Well you can do that too! Click Explore Photos at the top of the page along the green navigation bar, and you’ll be whisked away to a world map. You can then select a set of photos to view by choosing a pin point on the map. The heads of the pins have numbers on them to inform you how many photos exist for that location.
This is a really neat site; I hope you’ll have as much fun looking into the past as I did!
