Never Be Left in the Dark Again!

The POWER of 16 SUPER BRIGHT LED Lights...

Generating 15,000 MCD Brightness...

In One AWESOME Lantern!

7'' of PURE POWER!

Ultra Comfort Handle with Finger Grooves for Convenient Carrying or Hanging!

SUPER LONG LASTING LED POWER!

Don't Need it so Bright? Adjust Brightness with the Dimmer Switch!

Perfect for Power Outages, Camping, Emergencies, or Dark Areas

Life Shouldn't be Dark!

More often than not, we take light for granted. When it's dark and we need to see, we simply flip a switch and forget about it. That's nice.

But what about when that switch won't work? Say there's a power outage? An electrical problem? An emergency?

Say you're out camping and REALLY need a light source more potent than that weak yellow stream of light being put out by your flashlight? What do you do then?

Or how about closer to home? Like that dark garage or shed in your back yard that doesn't have a light in it?Imagine how convenient it would be to have a SUPER BRIGHT, portable light hanging at the entrance, just waiting to completely illuminate the area!

The Answer to ALL of Your Lighting Problems is Here!

You've just gotta check this thing out! It's 7 inches of PURE ILLUMINATION POWER! We're talkin' about the power of 15,000 MCD Brightness rating fueled by 16 UNBELIEVABLY BRIGHT LED bulbs!

Have a dark garage or shed? NOT ANYMORE! Goin' camping? TAKE IT WITH YOU! Lookin' for a dependable source of light that'll NEVER LET YOU DOWN? Here it is!

It's the most AWESOME LANTERN EVER!

Count on it!
When it comes to LED, you can always count on it working when you need it! Why? Because not only are LED bulbs WAY brighter than standard bulbs, they're also WAY more efficient!

How much more? Well, put it this way: you can leave an LED bulb running for 11 straight years without the bulb burning out. Did you catch that? You could leave it on for 11 years, NEVER turning it off, and the bulb would still be just as strong and bright as the day you turned it on.
Oh and because LED bulbs are ridiculously efficient, you can expect your batteries to last 10X LONGER than with standard bulbs. Batteries are expensive...do the math!

Designed with Convenience in Mind!

This is a LUXURY GRADE LANTERN we're talkin' about here! The ultra-comfortable handle is grooved for your fingers, ensuring a secure grip and comfortable carrying. It's also designed to hang securely for hands free lighting!

Another great feature that sets this apart from other lanterns is the adjustable brightness control. 16 LED bulbs put out a TON of light, but maybe you don't need it that bright.

Maybe you're out camping and are reading in your tent. Go ahead and adjust the brightness with the dimmer control and have as little-or as much light as you want!

Keep it at Home...But DON'T Leave Home Without it!

It makes PERFECT sense to keep one of these brilliant lanterns at your home for those power outages or other emergencies. But it's also a smart idea to keep one in your car for travel!

Now you'll be prepared on road trips, outdoor activities, camping...ANYTHING!

GET IT NOW!

Today, we've got a deal that's sure to make a light go off in your head! For today only, you can get this BRILLIANT LED Lantern for the super-low price of just $12.97 with FREE US SHIPPING INCLUDED!

Computers 101

Norman from MN asks:
What desktop is the “best buy” now for just home use and selling things on eBay?
Hi, Norman.
Let me approach this question as I would have when I worked in PC sales, by qualifying you as a buyer.
The first question that I would ask is “Are you sure that you want a desktop, or would a laptop suit your needs better?”
In general, laptops cost more for the same amount of processing power, and are, as a rule, less upgradeable, but have the advantage of portability.  For myself, I only use a laptop, but have a keyboard, mouse and monitor that I connect to when I’m home for the convenience of desktop computing.  So is this portability important to you?
When comparing the two, be sure that you’re also comparing apples to apples.  What I mean by that is to make sure that you’re comparing machines that have a similar amount of RAM, similar processors and similar storage capability.  More on these terms later.  For instance, when I just searched for a desktop and laptop on a website I found two that were similar, although not identical with the desktop running $700 and the laptop running $800.
PROCESSOR: the processor is the “brain” of the machine.  The top sellers in processors right now is the “Core I” series of processors, the Core I3, the Core I5 and the Core I7.  The Core I3 is excellent for everyday computing, with the Core I5 and the Core I7 being more powerful for things like processing HD video and audio and graphics-intensive applications such as gaming.  As I say, though, for basic computing applications, you really won’t notice a difference between the three.  The laptop that I priced above has the core I7 processor, while the desktop has a Core I3.  Here is the logo that you should look for to see the processor on the machine:
STORAGE/HARD DRIVE: The size of the hard drive in your machine determines how many programs, photos, music, video, etc. you can have on your machine.  When you approach the capacity of your hard drive, you will notice the machine slowing considerably.  For instance on my computer I have more than 20,000 songs, almost 16,000 photos, 450 videos and all of the programs that I need at the moment and am using about 50% of my machine’s 500 gigabyte hard drive.  Whether you get a laptop or desktop, however, it is also important to get something such as an external hard drive to routinely back your system up to.  A good 1 terabyte hard drive (1,000 gigabyte) hard drive will cost you less than a hundred dollars.
RAM: A computer’s RAM is it’s temporary memory.  This is the amount of information that you can have open on your desktop at one time.  Typically any computer that you buy today will have enough RAM to handle any everyday computing functions.  The laptop that I referenced above has 8 GB of RAM, while the desktop has 6.
Another important consideration is to make sure that a salesman doesn’t sell you more computer than you need.  For instance, if you’re not creating HD videos or playing World Of Warcraft, there’s no reason to have an I7 processor with 12GB of RAM and a high-end video card.  If you think that there’s a chance that you’ll be doing this stuff before you buy a new computer, then it may be worth it to you get the higher-end machine.  Either one of the machines that I referenced above will be more than adequate for everyday computing needs, so if you go into the computer store armed with the above information, you should be fine.
It is also typically preferable, from a price standpoint, to buy your computer directly from the manufacturer rather than through a second party.  For instance, if you’re looking for a Dell computer, you might do better to buy directly from dell.com rather than bestbuy.com, simply for the fact that there is less retail markup on the manufacturer’s site then there is on the retailer’s website.
Hope that this helps.

MS Office

Powerpoint: Making the Difficult Fonts More Readable
When putting together a document and using some more interesting fonts, I’m sure that you’ve run into the same thing that I have… the font is cool, what you want, but not very readable for some people.
The design of the font just makes it feel “squished” together.
For you and me, not a problem… after all we chose the font… but for some of our audience it just isn’t going to work. The spacing of the characters is just too close together for them to easily read your message.
If they can’t read it, why did you bother with all the work to make it?
Obviously you want them to be able to read your font, so we’ve got to find a solution.
Most people would choose another font – definitely a great option, but what if your heart was really set on the other one?
Is there no way to use it?
Maybe, maybe not. It all depends upon the look you’re going for, but I do have a suggestion that may work for you.
Sometimes adjusting the spacing between characters will pull the difficult to read characters apart just enough to make it work, without you sacrificing your font choice.
In other words, a little bit of extra space between characters turns this:
into this:

Tip of the Day

Blank Your Monitor + Easy Read: Firefox Extension
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: staring at your computer screen at night is very unpleasant for the eyes. Websites with a lot of white space can feel almost blinding, and contribute to eye strain and headaches. Last week, I decided I was fed up with staring at my glowing screen, so I went looking for a solution. I found a plugin called Blank Your Monitor + Easy Read, and I am excited to show it to you!
Blank Your Monitor + Easy Read is a pretty simple Firefox extension, but once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Today's Feature

Web-Based Virus Scans

If you’ve fallen victim to some nasty viruses or horrible spyware, chances are you won’t be able to boot up your antivirus software. What many computer users don’t know is that you can also get access to virus removal scans online. So, when your antivirus won’t work and you can’t get rid of the virus any other way, here’s some Web sites you can visit to put everything back the way it was.

Trend Micro HouseCall
Many computer users rely on Trend Micro for their antivirus needs but when you’ve got a virus, sometimes your installed version won’t boot up, so the company’s got a free online scan that can be used by anyone in this situation, not just Trend Micro users. It’s called HouseCall and it’s a free virus scan that you can get right now… just go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com. When you get there, click on Launch HouseCall 6.5 (you have to have Java or ActiveX controls enabled):

Letters of Note

This is such an awesome site!  I couldn’t wait to share it with you!
Letters of Note brings you letters in their original form and a transcript of what was written from people from all walks of life. You’ll find letters from famous people here, as well as exceptionally witty or interesting correspondence from regular people and even children.
Navigation is easy! The site is setup blog style so all you have to do is scroll down and then click older or newer posts to navigate back and forth through the entries.
Just in the first two pages of this blog style offering there were letters from Einstein, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, and Kurt Vonnegut,  but even though there are celebrity letters I was enchanted and amused by the letters from non-celebs.  My favorite is a response by a little girl to an article in The Economist so far. But there is a great series of letters between a patient and a customer service representative about the dressing gowns at the doctor’s office/hospital.
I’ll be back to visit this site often to check out these fascinating letters of note! I hope you will too!

WOW! Who Wants A Revolutionary New Cable That...
Can Rescue Data From Old Hard Drives?
Can Save You BIG BUCKS On Backups?
Can Help You Transfer Gobs Of Data?
Can Even Save A Virus Infected Computer?
YOU DO Of Course!
Finally!
Discover The Cable You've Been Waiting For All Your Life!!

Ingenious Device Pays For Itself - FAST!
Now THAT'S Brilliant! When I first discovered this amazing cable, all I could think was, "WOW! Talk about a cable EVERY computer user needs!"
What the heck is it?
SATA Adapter
What's it do?
Why would you want one?
Glad you asked!

Basically, this ingenious device allows you use an internal hard drive as an external hard drive!
First - HOW it works:
You take an internal hard drive - IDE or SATA (that's pretty much everything from the last 10+ years) and plug it into this device. Then plug the USB cable into your computer - that's it! The hard drive you hooked up will show up as a removable drive under My Computer! No pesky driver install required! How cool is that?
Why would you want to do that? Here's just a FEW of the ways I use mine:
This is the biggie! Let's say you have an old computer laying around and you REALLY want to get the info off the old hard drive and onto your new computer. With this, just pop out the old hard drive, hook it to this little gadget, and plug the USB cable into your new computer.
You just got your data back!
Oh, and if you're like me and have been computing for awhile, you probably have an old hard drive or two lying around. If so, just hook it up to this and have instant USB access to your files! Now THAT'S smart!
My favorite use for this? Using it as a cheap backup device!
OK, think about this - how much does an external hard drive cost? They're freakin' expensive! In a LOT of cases they can easily run over $100 - even $200 isn't unusual! Sad part is, if you're like most people, you're just using them as a backup device or extra storage. Know why you're paying so much? That pretty case!

Why not just use an internal hard drive with one of these adapters?
Think about it -
hook up any internal IDE or SATA drive to this device and you instantly have a place for backups or extra storage! When you're done, just stick the drive in your desk drawer! Hey, that's my backup plan most of the time! Internal drives are easier to store, cheaper to buy (think WAY cheaper) and just as reliable!
PLUS - Once you get the data off your old hard drive, you can turn THOSE into your backup drives! Now that's my kind of recycling!
So, you have a large file - or group of files - that just won't fit on your flash drive but you need to get them to another computer. Hmm. what to do...
I know - grab that old hard drive sitting in your drawer and use this handy cable put them on there! After all, this cable is basically turning your old hard drive into a giant flash drive, right? Why not use it like one?
Once your data has been copied, just grab the drive and cable and transfer to the computer that needs the info -problem solved!
OK, this may not be for everyone, but I've done this several times with these cables and it works GREAT!
See, I get a lot of people that come to me with infected computers. Well, some of those infections take HOURS to get off their computer because every time you boot Windows, the virus turns on as well. Smarter viruses then disable all the software tools you install to get rid of them! ARRGH!
So, instead of taking hours to try and manually remove a bad virus, I just pop out the hard drive and - using this cable - hook it to my personal computer. Now I have access to the everything but since windows didn't boot on the infected drive, the virus STAYS DORMANT - and is helpless to stop me from killing it! A quick scan and removal with from my AV software and the problem is fixed!
All thanks to this handy little cable!
And those are just a FEW of the uses for this remarkable cable!
Frankly, this cable is so incredibly useful that once you get it, you'll wonder how you got along without it! In fact, you gotta wonder why these aren't standard equipment with every new PC!
Your cost? 'Till midnight tonight it's just $18.97 and US Shipping is FREE! It's an incredible deal - especially when you figure in all the money it's going to save you on those fancy external drives!
Pays for itself almost instantly! Check it out:
PS - Stop getting ripped off for hard drive storage! Grab one of these and use ANY IDE or SATA drive for extra space, backup, and storage before the price heads up to $24.97 tomorrow!
