Tracking Santa with Google

Every year, Santa and his elves bring joy to millions of children around the world. This year, his elves have helped Santa by kitting out his sleigh with some special Google “toys”, most notably, Google Maps. This Christmas Eve, you can follow Santa with Google’s Santa Tracker as he dashes around the world. Happy holidays everyone!

New 3D Cities in Google Earth

This year, we announced a new way to explore the world in 3D. Advanced image processing, allows you to fly through a 3D landscape on Google Earth mobile and your desktop with Google Earth 7. We’ve just launched the following cities: Little Rock, AR, Anaheim, CA, Albuquerque, NM, Springfield, MO, Wichita, KS and Grenoble, France.

Street View in the Arctic

In August members of the Google Earth team traveled to Cambridge Bay, NU to collect outdoor and indoor Street View imagery, and teach members of the community to use Map Maker. See new imagery from this Canadian Arctic collection, now on Google Earth.

News from Google Earth Outreach
